Maradona To Coach Honduran National Side?
Maradona himself has reportedly verified the claims and says that he has heard that the Hondurans have a good side and that he is sure that he could help form a good team with a solid purpose in conjunction with the Honduran federation.
Having left his post as sporting director at his hometown club Boca Juniors following a falling out with the owners after they allowed Alfio Basile to be released as coach to take up the Argentina national coach post, Maradona is technically free to join up with Honduras at any time although his reputation throughout his later playing career and his sporadic and unsuccessful coaching career for not seeing any contracts through to conclusion would surely worry the Honduras soccer federation.
Saying that, there can be few bigger names in the history of world soccer than and the shot in the arm his appointment would give football in Honduras would surely be unmeasurable. Time for another chapter in the Maradona football saga?
